Compatibility

Does my phone support eSIM? +
Most modern smartphones support eSIM. iPhone XS (2018) and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer. Check the full device list here.
Can I use eSIM on a tablet or iPad? +
Yes. iPad Pro (2018 and newer), iPad Air (3rd gen+), and iPad Mini (5th gen+) all support eSIM. Our plans work on tablets too.
My phone is locked to a carrier — will eSIM still work? +
If your phone is carrier-locked, eSIM from another provider may be blocked. Contact your home carrier to unlock your device before traveling, or ask us — we can advise based on your specific situation.

Plans & Data

When does my plan start counting down? +
Your plan activates the first time you connect to the Taiwan mobile network — not when you scan the QR code. You can safely scan the QR code at home before your flight without starting the countdown.
What happens when I run out of data? +
Your internet connection will stop. You can purchase a new plan on our site and it will be emailed to you within 60 seconds. Add it to your phone and you're back online.
Can I use hotspot / tethering? +
Yes. All plans include hotspot at no extra charge. Great for sharing your data with a laptop or travel companions.
Is there unlimited data? +
Our 30-day 50GB plan is effectively unlimited for most travelers. After 50GB, data may be throttled. We'll add an unlimited option soon.

Purchase & Delivery

How long does delivery take? +
Your QR code is emailed within 60 seconds of payment confirmation — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you don't receive it, check spam or contact us.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, and Google Pay — all via Stripe's secure checkout.
Can I get a refund? +
If you haven't scanned the QR code yet, we offer a full refund within 24 hours of purchase. Once the eSIM has been installed and activated, refunds are not possible as the service has been delivered. Email support@mytaiwanesim.com for help.
I didn't receive my QR code. What do I do? +
1. Check your spam/junk folder first. 2. Search your inbox for "mytaiwanesim". 3. If still nothing, email us at support@mytaiwanesim.com with your order details and we'll resend within minutes.

Coverage & Network

Which network does the eSIM use in Taiwan? +
Our eSIMs run on Taiwan's top 4G LTE carrier network. You'll get strong signal in Taipei, Kaohsiung, Tainan, Taichung, and most rural areas including popular tourist routes like the East Rift Valley and Taroko Gorge.
Will my eSIM work in the mountains or rural areas? +
Coverage is strong in all major cities and towns, and along the main highway network. In extremely remote mountain trails, signal may be weak — the same as any carrier in Taiwan.
Does the eSIM work on the Taiwan High Speed Rail (HSR)? +
Yes. You'll have data on the HSR between Taipei and Kaohsiung with only brief signal drops in tunnels.
